There’s absolutely nothing better on a warm evening than listening to music under blue skies. Whether you’re into jazz, rock, beach music, or R&B, Raleigh has plenty to offer this summer. Here’s a list of outdoor concerts in Raleigh you can enjoy all season long, and many of them are family friendly. So grab a blanket or a lawn chair and head to these live music venues for an auditory adventure.

Summer in the Parks Concert Series

Hearing that the Summer in the Parks Concert Series is expanding to five Raleigh parks locations this year was music to our ears! Every Sunday at 6 p.m. you can enjoy a free concert at Pullen Park, Lake Johnson, Fletcher Park, John Chavis Memorial Park, and Powell Dr. Park. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair and find a spot on the grass to listen to local artists of all genres, from folk to jazz.

Summerfest Series at Koka Booth Amphitheatre

Summerfest weekends are back! The North Carolina Symphony Summerfest takes place on the lawn in front of Koka Booth Amphitheatre from May 27th to July 15th. Enjoy all of the family fun of symphony performances as you appreciate great music in the great outdoors. On July 4th check out the free show to celebrate Independence Day and hear all-American favorites played by Cary Town Band and the North Carolina Symphony.

Coastal Credit Union Music Park

Coastal Credit Union Music Park is known for being southeast Raleigh’s largest outdoor music venue. Some of the biggest bands and artists in the world have taken to the outdoor stage. Take a look at the events calendar, and you will see some of the famous performers coming this summer, from Lady Antebellum on June 15th to Hank Williams Jr. and Lynyrd Skynyrd on August 12th.

Y’all at Dix Park

Live music and food go together like peanut butter and jelly, and Raleigh has some of the best of both as is evident at this concert series. Dix Park’s first concert series will feature live music, great beers, food trucks, and field day games to keep you entertained. The concerts will be held on three Saturdays this summer: June 24th, July 22nd, and August 26th from 4-10 p.m.

Midtown Beach Music Series at Midtown Park

Midtown Park is the ultimate gathering place outdoors at North Hills. The Thursday evening Midtown Beach Music Series will get you in the mood for fun in the sun. Celebrating its 10th season, the free series occurs every Thursday through August 17th from 6-9 p.m. and hosts over 125,000 guests. Put on your dancing shoes and get ready to show off your dancing skills!

20th Anniversary Summer Concert Series at North Carolina Museum of Art

Since 1997 the Museum Park Theater has welcomed America’s finest singer-songwriters and critically acclaimed musical ensembles from around the world. The 20th Anniversary Summer Concert Series celebrates some of the world’s finest musicians and performers and homegrown talent from across North Carolina. Sit outside and enjoy the tunes as they float down from the amphitheater stage.

Rocky Mount Downtown LIVE!

Bring your lawn chairs to enjoy free concerts on the Imperial Centre lawn (rain or shine)! Food and beverage vendors are on site, and no coolers are allowed. This month features THROWBACK THURSDAY with Love Tribe on June 8th and Spare Change on June 22nd. The concert series runs every Thursday at 6:00 p.m. through September 28th.
